Stigma Magazine supports individuals recovering from drug and alcohol addiction as well as individuals in mental health recovery and their loved ones by providing relevant and engaging information and resources to keep them connected and encourage them to create and embrace a healthy lifestyle as they recover in the real world.
Stigma Magazine does not endorse or discredit a particular recovery methodology. Rather, Stigma serves as a medium by which recovery information from wide and varied sources may be shared.

Luke de Leseleuc is the founder, publisher and president of Stigma Magazine and has more than 7 years of experience in the magazine publishing industry. Luke also sits on the Island Health Mental Health and Addictions Advisory Board. Luke has just completed writing his first novel and is in the process of self publishing his work. Luke is most passionate about promoting a lifestyle of freedom and joy for people in recovery from mental health issues and all kinds of addictions.
Amanda Farrell-Low
Editor
Amanda Farrell-Low is a freelance journalist and editor who has been covering Victoria's arts and culture scene for the past 10 years. She's a regular columnist on CBC Radio's All Points West and former Monday Magazine arts editor. Issues around substance use, mental health and harm reduction are dear to her heart, and she is happy to be contributing to Stigma Magazine.

Cassie Hooker

Cassie Hooker has been writing and editing for others since the 6th grade, and has offered these services as a professional freelancer for the last 3 years. She has a wealth of personal experience in dealing with mental health-related issues, such as Autism, PTSD and Depression, being the mom of two wonderful Autistic children, and the partner of one of Canada’s military vets suffering from PTSD. She is currently working on a book about the funnier side of parenting Autistic children..
Pete Anslow

Pete Anslow is an advocate for the homeless and the disadvantaged.He hopes that by having this platform,he can change the stigma associated with mental health and addictions issues. A recent statistic he read says that 98% of homeless people suffer from mental health and addictions issues. He is part of the Stigma team to write about and to give a voice to those who are not heard, and a presence to those who are not seen. Pete is also the Executive Director of The Hope Through Achievement Foundation.

Chris Freeman

Chris Freeman is the Recovery Program Coordinator at the Power House Recovery Center in Houston, Texas.
His duties include all of the social media implementation and design. Chris writes for several organizations in the recovery community, recovery sites and various publications.
He also assists and helps the men in the house with the process of working the 12 steps of recovery. He advocates and supports the men on their journey, as they establish and gain a sober living lifestyle
